Support The South LA Recap

First, thanks for clicking on this section of The South LA Recap (and if it was an accident, thanks for sticking around and reading this long).

When I started The South LA Recap in December of 2020, I wanted to present an alternative to the deficit-based reporting of the South Los Angeles region, and learn more about the version of South LA that my grandparents and parents experienced.

Speed up to the present, The South LA Recap has become a passion project, but also a service tool to help other South LA residents learn more about their region–and to understand how the history of the region has influenced ever square mile we see today.

One day, I would love to grow The South LA Recap into a series of documentary films to show the whole world the incredible stories that have sprouted from this region. But that’s going to take a lot of small steps to get to that big goal.

If you’re moved to support The South LA Recap financially, I have a Buy Me A Coffee donation link, which you can use for a one time donation. Disclaimer: Any money I receive is probably not going to coffee, but going to a savings account to fund my first documentary about South LA.

If you’re not interested in donating or are unable to donate financially, there are still other ways that you can help.

  1. If you haven’t already, please consider subscribing to The South LA Recap.
  2. If there’s a video that I’ve created that you really like, please consider sharing it on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and tag @thesouthlarecap.
  3. And, at the very least, you can continue to watch my videos! At the end of the day, this project is not about “making” money, it’s about educating everyone about this region.
